Type 2 Diabetes – Two New Medications for Treating High Blood Sugar

The two tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) and cannabidiol (CBD) are phytochemicals just like the active ingredient in pot, but without the psychoactive effects. According to a report published in the journal Diabetes Care in August 2016, both substances could be helpful in treating high blood sugars levels in people who have been clinically determined to have Type 2 diabetes. see here

Scientists at the University of Nottingham in Derby and several other research institutions in the UK looked at 62 participants with a Type 2 diabetes analysis. It was found… 

THCV decreased their fasting blood sugar levels when compared with a placebo and improved upon the ability of their pancreas to make insulin.
CBD improved their insulin sensitivity and helped their pancreas to make insulin in answer to their food intake.
